Understanding Options Data
The Greeks Explained
Measures how much the option price changes when the stock moves $1. Calls: 0 to 1, Puts: -1 to 0.
Rate of change of Delta. Higher gamma means Delta changes faster as stock price moves.
Time decay — how much value the option loses each day. Usually negative (options lose value over time).
Sensitivity to volatility changes. Higher vega means the option is more affected by IV changes.
Key Metrics
Market's expectation of future price movement.
Total outstanding contracts. High OI = more liquidity.
Real value if exercised now (stock - strike for calls).
